deep forest prayers vii.

emptiness passes between us—

myself & deep forest;

myself & vast sky;

myself & babbling creeks.

emptiness passes between us

like a silk screen

lace window, we peer

into each other & all i see

are patterns that trail through

space, make forests,

patterns—

i surrender to them

& life feels at ease

lace—

i wear around my

neck & breasts

casts vignettes onto

my body, creamy

flesh, spiderwebs

emptiness—

lazily draws circles

of incense smoke

back up to the sun

emptiness passes between us—

drive for miles to find

these places — portals
